Mary's Cat is:
Chris: Guitar & Vocals
Jase: Bass Guitar
Matt: Drums
Boothy: DJ and Samples

Mary's Cat were formed in late 1998. Originally the line up was; Chris- guitar/vocals, Jase- Bass and A.D.- guitar. After a long search for a drummer, Kev from local covers band Smart Bloke was brought in. This didn't work out, and A.D. also left. And so began the long line of drummers; Johnny, Matt and Darren, all who were short lived. But Darren did bring along Scott to make the band a two guitar band again. Eventually Scott's brother, Simon came along on the drums. This line up worked well and lasted until around April 2000, when due to personal reasons Scott left, once again the band reverted to a three piece.
The band played several small gigs around the Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire areas and went into the recording studio to record eight tracks, three of which were used on the demo CD, ' Self Replicating Demo.'
Success followed as the track 'disease' hit the number 1 spot in the UK Sounds chart and was then featured on the Lazee compilation CD 'Ltd. Edition'
Due to unforseen circumstances Simon departed and Chris and Jase continued writing new material as they searched for a new line up. Matt joined as the new drummer in 2002 along with the added dimension of a DJ/ sampler, Boothy and the band are currently rehearsing hard ready for a heavy schedule of gigs in the summer of 2002, there are also plans to return to the studio to record new tracks very soon.

So why the name Mary's Cat?
A true story, only the names have been changed to protect the guilty. Once upon a time two men shared a house which belonged to one of their girlfriend's mums, which came complete with a lodger, the cat. The two men were left the responsibility of caring for the cat, which was fine until one day. The mum found out that her daughter's boyfriend was cheating on her and evicted him from her house, this left the other man the responsibility of the cat. Unfortunately this man was having a few problems and was finding it difficult looking after himself let alone a cat. The cat did live, and the other man was then also evicted. Anyway, thanks to Mary and her cat for the name.
